secret island

Day and night we shared the fruits of the earth
Feet in the sea, you waved me goodbye for other lands
The tides went and the tides returned
But you were behind a troupe of borders

You next took my hand on a wet city
Slowly elegant fingers navigated my skin
And you showed me an island inside a continent

The tides went and the tides returned

The remote sea claimed me again
Brought Aphrodite's spell as my sole treasure
Protected it in a cloth of the most tender lust

Mariners hope, mariners despair
Cursing calendars and worshipping maps
Bottles of devotion are thrown into the wintry waves
The tides went and the tides will return
